yowza

hooooookay... I'm sitting at my computer, all packed and ready to go. Matty's coming to pick me up in about 45 minutes. We'll stop at mom's briefly to say goodbye and then I am gonzo.

I'd first like to thank everyone that came out to my mom's party last night. It was a HUGE success. She was glowing all night long, and it was beautiful to see. I don't think my brothers and I could've been more pleased to see so many people come out to let mom know how much she means to them. Happy day after your birthday mom!

Well, I'll wrap this up now, knowing that soon there'll be more exotic and crazy things to write about (like helping Rico move... wtf?)

later!

I'd smash a bottle of champagne, but...

...it would make a real mess of my keyboard. Instead, this little post will be the official launching ceremony for this new blog space of mine.

I'm putting this up in the hopes that I'll be able to access and update it while I'm hauling around eastern Europe. It should be more easily accessible for you than the stupid microsoft live space, and I hope it's easier to load and work with from a bad net connection as well.

Comments will be very much appreciated, as it will be a real treat to check in and feel like my writings are actually getting through to people. It's a weird sort of disconnected communication, but it has its upsides. Mostly there's just a warm fuzzy feeling in knowing that people actually care to read about your adventures.

So, here's to the upcoming trip and the success of this blogging attempt! *cheers*

beems
PS: for those of you unfamiliar with the nick, bms came from Big Mikey Schmitz. I think it evolved out of various hockey-related stories. Anyway, I go by the initials or as beems, which is the pronunciation. The fact that the letters b-m-s also phonetically sound like "be a mess" is just a coincidence. Really.
